On this page you will find the terms and conditions for WebwinkelKeur's tools and services. In addition to the review system, we also offer assistance in the event of a dispute or dispute with a member of WebwinkelKeur.
Consent to our conditions
By using our services and/or tools as a consumer you automatically agree to the following conditions. We advise you to read the conditions below carefully.
Disputes and disputes
As an independent organization we are there for both the merchant and the consumer. Without taking sides we mediate in disputes and disagreements. To do this properly we ask you:
- To communicate in a decent and mature way with all parties involved.
- Not to tell inaccuracies or half-truths. We can best help you when we have all the facts.
- To send us the requested information or supporting documents; without proof, in many cases, we cannot verify your side of the story.
- To indicate what, in your opinion, is a solution to the dispute. We want to avoid long discussions of principle without solutions.
- To respond quickly so that we can reach a solution quickly.
If your complaint is already being handled elsewhere, for example at Bol.com or Klarna, it is unfortunately not possible to submit a complaint to WebwinkelKeur.
Writing reviews
We find it important that our customer reviews form the best possible picture of the performance of a webshop. Therefore, we have a set policy to guarantee the authenticity of the reviews.
Rules for reviews
You are solely responsible for the content of your review and for providing accurate and complete information. We reject a review if:
- It contains inappropriate language. This refers primarily to swearing or other expressions that are considered offensive, discriminatory, offensive or inappropriate in the context.
- It contains factual untruths or inaccuracies. We do not judge feelings or opinions. For example, a delivery time of 3 days may be perceived as fast by one consumer and slow by another. A statement like "the delivery time was much longer than indicated" can however be tested by comparing the indicated delivery time with the actual delivery time. WebwinkelKeur only tests facts and not feelings.
- It contains references to competitors.
- If the reviewer does not cooperate in checking the review. It may be that a store indicates that a review is incorrect, we will contact the reviewer to verify the authenticity of the review. If the reviewer does not cooperate, we will give the webshop the benefit of the doubt.
- If the (delivery of the) order is more than 6 months ago. We find it important that the review gives an up-to-date picture of the web store's customer service. Also, it is difficult for us to check facts in case of a long-term conflict.
- If you yourself have not demonstrably been a customer at the (web) store. It is not the intention to post reviews on behalf of third parties, or reviews of purchases made through third party websites.
- The review is only a reaction to a previous review. The review option is not intended as a response to another or previous review. It is always possible to add to your previous experience using the link you receive from us by email after posting.
- The review contains personal data of a third party or data leading to a third party. We are legally not allowed to publish this data.
- It is (unnecessarily) too long. (Max. 600 characters)
- It urges you not to order from this online store.
- A review is written in exchange for a product (to test), money or a discount.
- It otherwise violates the law.
Quarantine reviews
- If the review is disputed by the merchant, we initiate an investigation. We place the review in quarantine during our investigation.
- If we ourselves have reason to believe that a review is incorrect or unjustified, we place the review in quarantine and initiate an investigation.
- We make every effort to complete the investigation as quickly as possible and republish or remove the review.
Posting of the review
After posting, you grant WebwinkelKeur the right to publish and reproduce the review. This right is perpetual, unlimited and irrevocable. WebwinkelKeur is not obliged to pay any compensation for this.
Basis for collecting personal data
The invitation email for leaving a review
- To inform customers about the quality of the online store, webshops can invite customers to leave a review. We then send an e-mail to you on behalf of the web store and then publish the review. This can be done, by settings, via our e-mail address or an e-mail address chosen by the web shop.
- To send the invitation we process the following personal data: your name, e-mail address and order number. Optionally, we can also process the phone number and ordered products, for example for sending a mobile invitation and/or collecting product reviews.
- The webshop is obliged to inform you that it shares personal data with WebwinkelKeur for sending the invitations.
- We consider the risk of processing this personal data medium.
- Invitations are sent via e-mail (partner: Mandrill). We keep this data on a secure database, the server is in the Netherlands and a secure backup is in Switzerland.
- We keep this data for three years. We consider this necessary to provide the web store with statistics about the invitations sent and to prevent a single consumer from writing multiple reviews. In this way we try to protect the webshop from reviews that may be written by their competitors.
The review itself
- We publish reviews about a web store issued by their customers on their own member page. If a remarkable or hurtful review has been left, a webshop can ask us to have the review modified or removed by means of a moderation request. If the online store does this, in most cases we contact the person who left the review on their behalf.
- To publish and manage the review, we process the following personal data: the review text, your name, IP address and e-mail address. Optionally, the phone number and products ordered may also be processed. You will be asked for an order number, but it is not obligatory to fill it in.
- You give us permission to process and publish the above personal data when you submit your review.
- We consider the risk of processing this personal data to be medium.
- Correspondence is sent via e-mail (partners: Mandrill & SupportBee). We store this data on a secure database, the server is in the Netherlands and a secure backup is in Switzerland.
- We keep this data indefinitely. We consider this necessary from the point of view of informing you as a consumer about the reliability of a web store. At your request we can remove the review. You can always change or delete your review yourself.
